What information we collect

We collect information you actively submit during the checkout process on our store.  When you make a purchase online, sign up for updates and marketing communications from us, submit a product review on our website, contact us for customer service, we may collect personal information about you.

We also collect information passively submitted. While you visit our site, we collect information about the computer, or other device from which you access, our website, and information about your navigation, including:

How we use the data collected

We’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type and version: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints

Who we share your data with

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process exchanges and support you.

For example, if you make a purchase on our website, we collect several types of data from you and use it in multiple ways:

  • We use your shipping address to make sure that our products arrive at your door. We may also use your contact information to send you a receipt of purchase. We may look at your experience on our website to make improvements to it and try to tailor it to your needs.
  • We will also analyze the data you provide us and your behavior on our website to ensure that the activity is not fraudulent.

Finally, we use your purchase information for accounting and financial reporting.

How long we retain your data

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Cookies

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Payments

When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to STRIPE, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Links to third party sites

This website may contain links to other websites or blogs that are not under the control of FIFECT. These links are included as a convenience to provide further information. The inclusion of such links does not imply endorsement, or sponsorship by FIFECT of any linked website or any association with its operators. We change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent. We always indicate the date the last changes were published. Policy changes will apply only to information collected after the date of the change.  Please check this page periodically for changes. Your continued visit of our website following the publishing of changes to this Privacy Notice will be considered your consent to those changes.
